Am I silly, or what? On a page listing critters I'd seen that day was my finished drawing of one of the birds, colored and everything--but when I looked online at a photo of that bird, I realized I got the color wrong, and I'd missed the distinguishing mark on the cheek--I needed to draw it in!
But as I was doing so, God nudged me and said, "June, you saw that bird at Step Creek. Your picture here is of a bird you photographed at Lower Bridge, clear on the other side of the park--how do you know it was the same bird?" True. It made sense that the bird would be the dusky thrush, at Lower Bridge to begin with, and she was brown, didn't have those cheek marks! Of course.
Sorry Dusky. I just about changed your brown to gray; gave you an afro and side burns; changed your name to "Hero"! (All those things would've happened if it were a Hiyo-tori, not a Tsugumi, or Dusky Thrush.)
Aren't you glad God keeps our identities straight--even little fowl of the air? What a God. What a great, compassionate God!
