I was in Minneapolis by last Saturday, at my sister Janice's apartment. We had fun in a large Community Room.
She hosted a singalong, and after a piano duet, the Maple Leaf Rag by a piano student, and kids' choruses; seniors joined in the fun. Everyone had been given lyric sheets for old favorites like "Home on the Range"; "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head"; "Side By Side"; and sang them with gusto.
After the hula "Pearly Shells", a short testimony and banjo solo, (since he was sitting relatively still, I decided to sketch him) we went on to hear another vocal special then continued with a hymn sing of "Amazing Grace", "Glory to His Name", "Battle Hymn of the Republic", "Old Rugged Cross", finishing up with "How Great Thou Art".
It seems everyone enjoyed themselves and want a repeat singalong next year.
