"SHORT SLEEVES?!" When Jaime came to church for New Year's morning, I had to remember when I was younger, I could do that too. But no more. I wear long sleeves and bundle up when it's c-c-c-olld. Groan. Jaime had spent all-nighters doing work earlier in the week--I used to be able to do that too--so went home as soon as church was over in the morning, saying he wanted to get in a few hours of sleep.
My sisters had invited the Saitos downstairs again for a New Year's meal that evening. My sister Janice, while putting the final things on the table, found a switch on her Rudolph nose and showed us how she could get it to glow.
We were thrilled when Jaime showed up during the meal! We knew Kinya and Keima liked him and we asked him to join us for the meal, but he hadn't been sure if he could make it or not. Jaime and Keima played games with each other while the rest of us old fogies cheered them on.
I have rarely seen Keima smile so freely or so much. Even after Jaime went home, Kinya and Keima stayed a few more hours for more fun and fellowship. I didn't realize it, but Joyce and Janice told me later that Kinya was talking a lot.
Why did I get this shot? Joyce, Janice, and I had prayed much especially about the Christmas and New Year's meal fellowships; and God had blessed us way above our highest expectations. Our Heavenly Father had given us good things to them that ask Him, out of His "Convenience Store"...mentioned in Matt. 7:11.
