"But You know Lord, that was almost 20 years ago!"
I'd seen the papers my Dad had kept in the manilla envelope with the ideas for the book I'd started writing (Oct. 2 post "Could It Be?"), but when I pulled out the sheets of paper yesterday, I noticed they were all out of order. There were about 40 in here! I'd written this so long ago. Would I be able to make sense out of them now?
Altho' I'd put need for pictures in red, scripture in green, appendix things in asterisks to make it easy to use later, I couldn't just insert necessary photos and documents here and there; I would have to read the entire text carefully to get the pages in the right order. I mean, I HAD all the pictures I needed now...I'd taken down at least 300 of them from the walls.
Yes, it was this book I was working on when Daddy got together for me the 20 photographs and 30 documents...or was it 30 photographs and 20 documents I asked for? All but 3 items on those 2 lists are now in hand. But chapters 10-12 haven't been written yet.
But God knew how much time passed since I wrote those 40 pages...would He really want me to try picking it up now?
One of the items in the "vinyl fort" jumped out at me. The faces in the "Master Rally" quartet, the group that sang the night Daddy was saved, seemed to call out to me: "Keeps Me Singing As I Go".
Got it, Father. I'll sing with my fingers. You get rid of the fog in my brain, ok?
